Recently, Yuanshuo Technology UNISPACE has officially completed product technical mutual certification tests with two core database products of Tianjin Nanda General Data Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "GBASE"), namely GBase 8s and GBase 8c, achieving "One Platform, Dual Certifications".
Through rigorous joint testing by both parties, UNISPACE Backup and Disaster Recovery System demonstrates excellent compatibility, functional integrity and operational stability in GBase 8s and GBase 8c database environments. This marks that UNISPACE has achieved full adaptation to the GBASE database family, covering both centralized and distributed architectures. It can deliver full-scenario localized data protection joint solutions for key industries including finance, government affairs and energy.

GBase 8s is an enterprise-grade centralized transactional database developed by GBASE. Renowned for high reliability, high performance and robust security, it features mature stability and is widely deployed in core transaction systems with stringent business continuity requirements.
GBase 8c is an enterprise-grade distributed transactional database developed by GBASE. It boasts core capabilities such as strong consistency, high availability and elastic scaling. Designed for massive data and high-concurrency transaction scenarios, it represents the latest evolution direction of domestic database architectures.
UNISPACE Backup and Disaster Recovery System is a new-generation data backup and disaster recovery management platform independently developed by Yuanshuo Technology. It focuses on delivering unified data protection and network resilience management capabilities for databases, virtualization, cloud platforms and big data environments.
The completion of this dual certification means that users can seamlessly obtain enterprise-grade data protection capabilities from UNISPACE, whether adopting the centralized GBase 8s or distributed GBase 8c.

UNISPACE adopts a non-intrusive architecture for GBase 8c backup — no intrusive plugins need to be installed on database nodes, and data backup and restoration can be implemented via standard interfaces.
This architecture brings three core values:
Zero intrusion: No impact on the original database architecture and performance, eliminating system risks introduced by backup components.
Easy O&M: The backup system is deployed and upgraded independently, decoupled from database version iteration.
High compatibility: The non-embedded architecture naturally adapts to the multi-node topology of GBase 8c distributed clusters, with no re-adaptation of the backup system required when scaling out nodes.
GBase 8c adopts a typical distributed database architecture, consisting of multi-role nodes such as GTM, CN and DN in a cluster. The certification environment in this project adopts a 9-node database cluster: 6 data nodes + 3 management nodes. In distributed environments, data is stored in shards across multiple nodes, making it far more challenging to guarantee the consistency and integrity of backups compared with standalone databases.
Fully understanding the characteristics of distributed architecture, UNISPACE supports full-cluster backup and restoration for GBase 8c clusters, ensuring consistent snapshots of cross-shard data. Faced with complex distributed topologies, users can still realize "one-click backup and one-click restoration". Meanwhile, UNISPACE’s support for centralized GBase 8s is fully ready, helping users smoothly address continuity challenges of data protection during the evolution from centralized to distributed systems.
The backup integration between UNISPACE and GBase databases is built on the industry-standard XBSA (X/Open Backup Services API). As an internationally recognized standard interface for backup services, XBSA ensures standardized, manageable and long-term recoverable backup data streams:
Backup data flows through standard interfaces with standardized, auditable and traceable formats.
Backup and restoration jobs can be directly triggered via the gha_ctl command line on the GBase database side, running in parallel with the UNISPACE management platform to flexibly accommodate different O&M habits.
The standardized interface design enables the same backup framework to support both GBase 8s and GBase 8c, reserving a standardized path for integrating more ecosystem products in the future.
Taking the GBase 8c cluster certification as an example, this certification carried out six test cases covering the full backup and restoration workflow around core data protection scenarios, all of which passed the verification.
The test results show that UNISPACE’s support for GBase databases covers three key capabilities:
Dual-channel triggering: Supports graphical operations on the UNISPACE management portal as well as job triggering via the gha_ctl command line on the database side. Graphical jobs are automatically synchronized with consistent O&M experience.
Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR): Supports precise data restoration to any specified time point, addressing logical errors such as accidental data deletion or modification.
Cross-host restoration: Supports restoring data to a brand-new cluster environment, providing full support for disaster recovery, environment cloning and data supply for development and testing scenarios.
Data is the core asset in the digital era, and backup serves as the last line of defense for data security.
The completion of dual certification between UNISPACE Backup and Disaster Recovery System and GBase 8s & GBase 8c represents an in-depth collaboration of UNISPACE with domestic database ecosystem vendors. Going forward, Yuanshuo Technology will continue to build an open, verifiable and trustworthy data protection system. We will partner with more domestic database, cloud platform, chip and operating system vendors to jointly build a secure, reliable and self-controllable data protection ecosystem.
